Programme overview

Are you a self-proclaimed ‘bookworm’? Well, get ready because this programme invites you into the world of academic publishing with Taylor & Francis! You’ll learn all about the lifecycle of books and journals and the different stages involved in publishing (including digital publishing!) We’ll also look at the monumental impact academic publishing has on academia, industry & government, and more! What else can you expect? A deep dive into the breadth and depth of careers in this exciting industry.

From the different stages of publishing to the challenges and opportunities that come with the rise of digital technology, this programme is jam-packed with exciting content to sink your teeth into! Plus, you’ll learn about the various roles and pathways to a career at Taylor & Francis and the wider publishing industry. You’ll also complete a series of quizzes and fun activities to help build your understanding, finishing the programme with a downloadable portfolio of your work.

What is a Higher Technical Qualification?

Heard of HTQs but not sure how they compare to degrees or apprenticeships? This Springpod programme helps you explore Higher Technical Qualifications — what they involve, who they’re designed for, and where they can lead — so you can decide if this pathway fits your goals. You’ll come away with a clearer picture of whether an HTQ is right for you and what it could lead to.

Life as an HTQ Student

HTQs focus on applied learning. You’ll develop specialist skills through practical work, projects, and assessments, usually at a college or university with strong links to industry.

Securing an HTQ

Entry requirements vary by subject and provider, but usually include level 3 qualifications such as A levels, T Levels, or equivalent.

When will I hear back if I have been successful with my application?

Once you have applied for your programme, you will receive a confirmation email. You will be notified about the outcome of your application via email at least 3 days before the programme start date. Good luck!

Can I apply to multiple programmes?

Yes, you can sign up to multiple programmes with us.

Who can take part in the programme?

Most of our programmes require students to be in school/college. Some programmes require students to be based in specific regions of the UK, this is stipulated by the organisations themselves, and is not defined by Springpod.

However, the ages mentioned on our programmes are more of a guideline than a strict limit. As such, we more than welcome older students to apply as well!

Will I receive a certificate on completion of the programme?

You will receive a certificate on completion of your programme. It will be made available to download whenever your programme is marked as complete.
